  • Why I Started Hutton Consulting—and Why It Matters

    After more than a decade in healthcare billing, coding, and credentialing, I’ve seen firsthand how administrative systems can either support or hinder patient care. I’ve worked in the trenches—resolving denials, navigating payer requirements, and helping practices stay afloat through constant change. But what kept me going wasn’t just the numbers. It was the people.

    I started Hutton Consulting because I believe small practices deserve the same level of support, clarity, and efficiency as large organizations.     I recently decided to make a career change and start my own business! I found myself changing careers from Customer Service to Healthcare Medical Billing in 2014. My career has changed over time and I gained experience in DME, durable medical equipment, working for an insurance company, and a large retina group. The one constant throughout my experience was change.

    Insurance is changing their rules, policies, coverage and more. The changes bring a heavy administrative burden to the providers while insurance is reducing their reimbursement rates. I want to help the industry overcome this burden. This can be done in different ways but I want to take it a step further. I want my clients to have a solid foundation that is able to implement the changes quickly and design a sustainable workflow that can grow.
